Bach’s Coffee Cantata: A Caffeinated Concert

Find out what happens when a dad forbids his caffeine-obsessed daughter from drinking coffee. “Bach’s Coffee Cantata: A Caffeinated Concert” is a humorous cantata about that intoxicating beverage and German coffeehouse culture in the early 18th-century. First Coast Opera will perform the cantata with violinist Ilana Zaks and five other instrumentalists. Yes, coffee will be served, and music guests can toast and shout “huzzah!” to Liesgen, whose craving for the brew lands her in deep trouble with her Papa. Hint: there IS a happy ending. The cantata will be performed with a narrator tenor, a bass and a soprano. Cristina Bakhoum Sanchez is Liesgen, Sean Stork is Herr Schlendrian and Juan Tello is the Narrator. Curtis Tucker is the conductor.
